Espresso
Dose - 18 - 20g (Double Shot).
Time: 28 - 30 Seconds
STEP 1:
Zero your scale and measure 18-20g of coffee beans. Grind the beans into the porta-filter basket.
STEP 2:
Gently tap the basket horizontally and then vertically to even out the grinds. You can also use your finger to scrape the top of the basket.
STEP 3:
Insert the tamper and make sure that it is perfectly straight. With a neutral wrist position, tamp lightly, then slowly remove the tamper. Do not spin the tamper.
STEP 4:
Without inserting the porta-filter, flush the group head. This prevents scorching of the coffee.
STEP 5:
Insert the porter-filter and begin pulling the shot. After 28-30 seconds, finish the shot. This should produce 36 - 40g of coffee. If you are not meeting your target weight within this time range then you will need to adjust your grind slightly until you reach these targets.
