Finca Chaparral is situated in the San Rafael Arriba de Desamparados region and has its origins in the conglomerate of Don Claudio Castro. This farm was one of twelve under the management of Don Claudio thirty years ago, consisting of two mills and twelve farms in the Tres Rios area. Currently, Don Francisco is responsible for the care and maintenance of the farms, having inherited them from his father, Don Claudio. Since 2012, the farms have been RFA certified and in 2016 they underwent a farm management program to renew 100% of the coffee area and restore the farms to their full productive capacity. This resulted in a renewal of 70% with hybrid varieties and the remaining 30% being planted with Sarchimores, Caturra, and Catuaí.
